comparisons between the new york bombing and the bombing here at the boston marathon. now there appears to be a direct connection involving the tsarnaev brothers. from the surveillance video to the shoot-out with police to the pressure cooker loaded with bbs and ball bearings, there are striking similarities between the new york terror takedown and the boston marathon bombings, but now a direct link. cnn reporting that a note found on the unexploded bomb in manhattan mentioned the boston marathon tsarnaev brothers. the pressure cooker bomb that failed to explode was the same sort of improvised device that killed three people and wounded more than 260 in the boston marathon attack. one of the big questions that remains unanswered: did ahmad khan rahami work alone? former boston police commissioner ed davis does not think so. >> they don't do this by looking at the internet. they have to have someone show them how to do it.

the pilgrim nuclear power plant in plymouth back up and running today after it had to be shut down for more than a week. the power plant was shut down for a total of 12 days. this was for repairs due to issues with a valve that generates steam. and officials say the public was not in danger. >> sarah: downtown crossing has closed its coarse. the clothing store going out of business after 15 years in that location. in a statement, h&m said closing the store was necessary in order to look for the open new distorts. industry experts say an upcoming increase in rent and competition from other stores in the area could be to blame. new this morning amazon is opening a bookstore in dedham. the company says it's hiring people to work in the legacy place mall. it will be amazon's third bookstore in the country. the stores sell hard cover and paperback books and also feature amazon's popular cingsd l devices. there's no word yet on when the

right now ahmad khan rahami is facing five counts of attempted murder of a police officer. >> christa: we understand more federal charges could be on the way, as well. for the latest, let's go to 7's jennifer eagan. jen? >> jennifer: christa, police say the suspect has ties to the explosions in new york and new jersey over the weekend. ahmad khan rahami was wounded in a shoot-out with police yesterday. investigators say they have evidence that ties him to the bomb that injured 29 people in new york city and the device that exploded at a charity run in new jersey. they also say he's responsible filled with explosives in elizabeth, new jersey, and another pressure cooker bomb that never exploded in manhattan. rahami is facing attempted murder charges for the shoot-out with police. so far no charges have been filed in connection with the bombs, though. federal investigators are building their case right now. police are trying to figure out if rahami was working alone. in the newsroom, jennifer eagan, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: new details regarding the murder of two nuns

confessed. in a preliminary hearing friday, an officer testified that the suspect admitted to killing the woman. the alleged confession occurred during a taped interview on the day sanders was arrested and charged with capital murder. the sisters' bodies were found on their home on august 25th when they failed to show up at a health clinic where they worked as nurse a settlement has been reached involving 38 studios, the video game company owned by curt schilling. the red sox pitcher and several others have got pay $2.5 million to the rhode island commerce association. a settlement still needs to be approved by a judge. 38 studios filed for bankruptcy after receiving a $75 million loan to move to rhode island. >> christa: new this morning, actor jim carrey speaking out after being sued over the death of his ex-girlfriend.

the rest of the work week. we do lower the humanity. >> christa: how is the morning drive? here is chris. tell us more about that this morning. >> chris: christa, we're in rush hour. a lot of slow going. this is a live look at the expressway. the good news is traffic is moving relatively smoothly here. there are problems further to the south. let's go to the maps and show you what we're dealing with this morning. it's going to take you 30 minutes to get to the split from the tunnel. a lot of that has to do with a couple accidents that have popped up, this one on route 3 rt northbound at 128. lots of red on the maps because of those crashes there. there's an accident, route 9 eastbound at dudley road, and then there's some other problems to the north up in methuen there's an accident. 93 southbound at 110. then there's a water main break in chelsea. that's causing problems on 16 westbound at route 1. only one lane open there because of that. let's go to the maps and let's go to the drive times and show you what we're getting. 27 minutes.

pack your patience. >> sarah: now to the terror takedown. did he act alone? that's the question surrounding the bombing suspect captured in new jersey. right now he's being held on more than $5 million bail. >> christa: this morning investigators want to locate two men seen in surveillance handling those pressure cooker bombs. so for the latest on that and the investigation, we check in with 7's dan hausle in new york. >> dan: well, they've cleaned explosion, but if you look around, you can still see pieces of the glass that was flying all around here. behind me you can see the window broken in the bomb blast. two men may have accidentally disabled a bomb after the suspect placed it a few blocks from here in manhattan. police arrested ahmad khan rahami saying he has ties to explosions in new york and new

shoot-out with police in new jersey before he was arrested. investigators think in addition to the two explosions rahami is also tied to a backpack full of pipe bombs found, one going off in elizabeth, new jersey, when a police robot tried to disarm it. investigators also saying that rahami is behind a pressure cooker device that was found here in new york but never went off. now police want to talk to two men they have on surveillance they say the man tried to get it out of a duffel bag or a suitcase and a white plastic bag that rahami left it in. and what may have happened police are saying, these men looking for stuff may have actually broken, disabled this device, and that may be why it didn't go off. they left taking the bag and apparently leaving that bomb behind. this all happened about 20 minutes after rahami is believed to have dropped off the bomb

rahami is now facing charges in connection with that police shoot-out, but in federal charges yet in connection with the bombing here. investigators don't have to worry about his getting away. he's in a hospital, more than $5 million bail. but investigators continue to try to work the case, continue the try to see if anybody helped rahami. they say they don't believe there was any big terror cell of people who helped him, but they are investigating to see if anybody had any role to play. gh rahami is the only suspect they are seeking. live in new york city, dan hausle, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: check in on some of the day east other top stories now. a teacher at wilmington high school is back on the job after being charged with domestic violence. he was arrested last week after police say he beat a woman inside of his home. the teacher had been on paid administrative leave. the school says he does not pose a threat to the students and they want the let the case play out in court before taking action. so the patriots return to

"we could not have returned mr. altieri to his position if
